Biography
Irma Neumark was born on 25.5.1904 in Poznań, Poland and died in Israel (year unknown). First she attended the Strahlendorf commercial school in 1921/22, then she worked as a secretary until 1927. Between 1927 and 1929 she was trained as a social worker at Alice Salomon's Soziale Frauenschule in Berlin-Schöneberg. Later, she studied at the ‘Deutsche Akademie für soziale und pädagogische Frauenarbeit’. She worked mainly in the field of residential care and recreational work with children, e.g. at the Jewish children's homes in Norderney and Arendsee. After immigrating to Palestine in 1933, she worked in other fields and finally retrained as a nurse in 1946. She lived in Haifa.
